About
Hello, my name is Lex and I'm an artist with a variety of skills. Some things I enjoy are drawing, writing, coding, videogames, and crafting.
Artistically, my background is in media arts and animation and I've been a professional artist for about 5+ years now. My focus is on graphical art and characters that have a strong sense of action and emotion.
Writing and editing are other things I've studied, and I enjoy writing and reading character-driven stories. Dungeons and Dragons is a big inspiration!
Coding for web development, game design, and even robotics programming is something I enjoy as a hobby. Knowing about coding is useful for the best way to display digital art.
I also enjoy playing videogames in my spare time and crafting tactile things, such as bookbinding, card making, or weaving holders.
Currently, I have a full-time job which limits my time for side projects.
Some of my skills are listed below:
Digital Art
Animation
Video Editing
Graphic Design
UI / UX Design
Programming
Editing / Proofreading
Web Design
F.A.Q.
Who are you?
My online name is Lex, and I'm an artist based in the East Coast of the USA.
My timezone is Eastern Standard Time (GMT-5).
Are you open for commissions / requests / collaborations?
Nope. I don't have a lot of spare time for these things anymore.
You might see me in a game jam from time to time though.
What programs do you use to draw?
Drawing: Adobe Photoshop or Paint Tool Sai
Vectors: Abobe Illustrator
Animation: Adobe Animate, Adobe After Effects
Video editing: Adobe Premiere, Adobe Encoder
The hardware I use is a Wacom Cintiq 22HD and Wacom Intuos Pro Medium, depending on the location where I work.
What social media platforms do you use?
Tumblr: Doodles, art archive. My old art is here.
Twitter: Thoughts and personal updates. No art here.
Instagram: Drawings and illustrations. New art from 2020+ is located here.
YouTube: Tutorials. This is rarely updated.
Etsy: Personal shop selling things I craft, like books.
Github: Personal videogame updates. I'm making a visual novel, and you can see the updates on Github.
Why the name "LexBit"?
I like the name Lex because it sounds like e-LEX-tric. (Cheesy, I know.)
And 'bit' is part of a 'byte', which is a unit of digital information. I wanted the name to be partially related to digital stuff, since that's my medium.
Why is there lot of traditional art even though you're a digital artist?
I practice traditionally on paper a lot and like to explore different mediums for fun. My main focus is digital art, and I can't post a lot of my art online because it's for my job, so you'll mostly see my doodles from time to time.
What is the best way to contact you?
Email if I don't know you, Discord if I do.
